Air Azul - Proposed start in June 2009, company was dissolved and reformed as Sun America dba Jet America.
Air Georgian - Operating as Air Alliance for Air Canada, it was to offer Beechcraft 1900D service to Toronto from Toledo Express in the Mid-1990s. The route was approved by the DOT, but service never commenced.
Direct Air (1990s) - Commuter airline in 1995 to operate between Chicago Midway and around 24 airports in the Midwest including Toledo. Operation never materialized for Toledo service as airline ceased operations prior to entry.
Laker Air Bahamas - Service to Freeport, Bahamas with Boeing 727-200 aircraft was proposed on the airline's website, but never started.
Jet America II - Proposed in 2009 to base a low fare carrier in Toledo serving a dozen destinations and using aircraft that seat around 150 passengers. The start up was backed by creators of Skybus and never started Dayton-based Heartland Airlines. The airline was met with a cold reception from the Toledo-Lucas County Port Authority and received cold and uneducated hit from an editorial posted by local station WTOL, the CBS affiliate.
Century Air Lines, Inc - Proposed carrier in 1930 that was to fly Chicago-Detroit-Toledo-Cleveland and Chicago-Springfield-St.Louis. Airline was planned to replaced Stout Airlines which pulled out of the Chicago to Cleveland sector. The route was top operate 5 times per day using tri-motor LYcoming-Stinson transports.
