June 2013 Passenger Statistics
So far, 2013 has reversed the trend of passenger declines at Toledo Express Airport. Following a stellar May, June came in just as strong with a total of 14,841 passengers, or an increase of 17.5% over June 2012. Year to date, passenger numbers are ahead of 2012 by a slim margin of 3.6% to 87,840 on and off planes.
Again, the gains were led by Allegiant Air with their new destination of PGD – Punta Gorda. They handled a whopping 80% increase in passengers over June of 2012 on an capacity increase of 63% of available seats. They flew, on average, 93% full for the month to come in with 8,075 passengers to/from Toledo Express Airport.
American Airlines operated by American Connection/Chautauqua Airlines posted a decline over June 2012 of 8.6% to 6,676 passengers.
July 2013 should continue the trend of increase passenger loads for 2013. We again expect to see a 15% – 20% increase in passengers. If things continue on the current pace, the bottom appears to have occurred for passenger usage at Toledo Express. A very good trend to continue.
